so i’ve not had a whole lot of luck this year with the weather! it seems like everytime i set up a session, it rains or we get a noreaster, etc…in any case, we managed to get a few minutes before the sky opened up on alyssa and jimmy during their engagement session…i can’t wait to photograph their wedding this october! they were so great…

The pics are terrific! You are both adorable! Love all the poses and backgrounds, too. I know the wedding photos will be fabulous. Can’t wait!
Alyssa, I love how he’s “getting close” to you.! LOL
spring is my absolute favorite time of year…everything feels new and fresh again…the sun shines a little brighter and warmer and everything is bursting with unbelievable color and even though the weather this weekend didn’t quite catch up to all the blooming flowers and trees at the magnificent longwood gardens in pennsylvania (the wind was whipping and it was COLD), it didn’t matter much because the color was everywhere!!! take a look at some of these beauties straight out of camera…

so, okay, i did something new that i’ve never done before which was to attend a workshop with a photographer whose work i admire…i was priviledged enough to be able to participate with a group of 17 other photographers in the very limited jessica claire workshop that she only holds a couple of times a year…jessica is a wonderful photographer in orange county, california and i came away with fresh ideas for my own business which was the whole point…i also brought my son along for his first trip out west to celebrate his recent birthday and we had the best time! not even the two 7.2 earthquakes one which occurred not even 30 seconds off the plane could deter our spirits! anyway, jessica set up and had a stylized session for everyone to photograph much like a real wedding with a gorgeous couple (no they are not models, they just look like them) sean and brianna, a ringboy, and lots of beautiful details from fabulous vendors (see below for their links)…because most of the photographers there were either just starting out in wedding photography or early in their careers, i hung back more than i probably should have to let everyone else get what they needed…next time i’ll jockey harder for a position (probably not)…in any case, i promised jessica that i would try to be a better blogger so i will do my best to share a little bit more of my life and work with you on a more consistent basis…we’ll see how this goes…i’m happy with what i did get and it was great meeting other photographers who love shooting weddings as much as me…a big thank you to jessica’s husband, jeff, who treated us to a delicious home-cooked meal and to jessica for sharing her life, skills and home with me…take a look…
